The SkyWatcher EQ-6 Pro GoTo is recommended for those looking for a mount with an outstandingly high power handling capacity that can be used for more serious astrophotography tasks. It is recommended for Newtonian telescopes up to 25 cm, Schmidt-Cassegrain systems up to 28 cm, and 18 cm lens telescopes!
The 5 cm thick steel feet and the considerable size of the mount create excellent stability. Thanks to the ball-bearing shafts with fewer gear ratios than the basic EQ-6, periodic error is also very low, which can be almost completely eliminated by guiding through the built-in autoguide port. Astrophotographers will appreciate the very fine corrections (up to 0.25x star speed) that can be made, as well as the possibility of a teachable periodic error correction (PEC).
The SynScan also features a handheld LCD display for communication and a database of more than 42 900 objects, any of which can be accessed with the touch of a few buttons. It also supports communication with a computer, making it possible to control the mount from a PC. The necessary serial port (RS-232) cable is included. The accuracy of the pole positioning is enhanced by the illuminated fibre-plate pole finder. The basic package includes a cable with a cigarette lighter adapter to operate the mount from a car cigarette lighter. A battery-powered solution is recommended for deployment, but operation from a 220V mains supply is also possible with an optional mains adapter. Both Vixen- and Losmandy-standard prismatic bridges are included in the package.

Amióta az EQ-6-ot használom a fotózáshoz sokkal kevesebb képet kell kidobni vezetési hiba miatt, és az átlagos vezetési pontosság is sokkal jobb, mint az EQ-5-tel volt.

Disadvantage: szét kell szedni, hogy jól működjön.
"Gyárilag" nagy periodikus hibával terhelt mechanika. Ezen a következőképpen lehet segíteni:
Szét kell szedni az egészet, csapágyakat, csigakerekeket, orsókat átmosni, jól kiáztatni benziben belőlük a gyárilag belekent zsírszerű trutyit és néhány benne "felejtett" forgácsmaradványt.
Utána nagy teher- és hőmérséklet bírású gépzsírral összerakni, a csigakerék és orsók hézagjait jól beállítani (gyárilag elég szorosak) és máris kaptunk egy csendesebben működő, nagy teherbírású Goto mechanikát.
Valóban nagy a teherbírása, nekem 4db 5kg-os tárcsa az ellensúly és a mechanika erőlködés nélkül viszi a két tubust, meg a 20kg ellensúlyt.
Ja és pólustávcső is van benne tartozékként.

Disadvantage: Kicsit "rágós" mechanikai zaj beállítom, újrazsírozom de ezt megtehetn
Lecseréltem a rajta lévő fejet a 45mm-esre, de sajna így se ment rá a Meade 254/1016 távcsövem rögzítősíne, mert a sínen lévő trapéz kimunkálás kb 15mm-el rövidebb volt. Köszörültem, reszeltem rendesen.
Van pont hozzáillő sined Levente amit fel is tudok 1-1-ben csavarozni a távcsövön lévő keretre? Érdekelne, mert félek nehogy ezzel az utánmunkálással nagyon elgyengüljön a sín. Üdvözlettel: Dienes Laci
