In our experience, under dark skies, celestial objects begin to reveal themselves at this aperture: the spiral structure of certain galaxies becomes discernible, many globular clusters can be resolved into countless stars, and details of interstellar nebulae also become visible. Under suitably steady conditions, the precisely manufactured diffraction-limited parabolic mirror reveals numerous details on the surfaces of the planets and the Moon: Jupiter's Great Red Spot and many vortices in its atmosphere are easily visible, as are numerous rilles on the surface of our celestial companion.
Rich equipment package
The standard package includes a 9x50 finder scope, making it easier to locate fainter objects. A 2", 28 mm eyepiece provides a wide field of view and delivers 26x magnification. The particularly precise 2" Crayford focuser enables easy focusing and comes standard with a 1:10 microfocuser. The focuser naturally includes a 1.25" reducer adapter and a 2"/T2 adapter.
Excellent astrophotography instrument
This telescope is a highly capable instrument for astrophotography: its large aperture and fast focal ratio make it possible to capture the wonders of the night sky quickly. A glance at the Gallery will easily confirm this. The 2" focuser can accommodate the accessories required for photography, such as a coma corrector. For those pursuing more serious astrophotography goals with this telescope, replacing the dovetail bar with a solid version is recommended for more vibration-free operation.

The SkyWatcher HEQ-5 Pro GoTo mount provides stable, virtually vibration-free operation thanks to its 4.5 cm diameter steel legs and central reinforcing brace.
In addition to computerised object locating (GoTo control), the SynScan hand controller offers numerous extra functions that are useful for both visual observers and astrophotographers. Among other features, backlash compensation can be set to reduce the mount's response time, while data for up to 25 custom objects can be stored for easy future recall. The hand controller can also guide you through the most spectacular objects of the night in succession as part of a tour. The SynScan hand controller database stores data for more than 42,900 objects.
