The short tube and lightweight, semi-rigid mechanics make the instrument easy to carry. Its excellent optics provide a surprisingly sharp, contrasty image, allowing you to see Jupiter's Great Red Spot or the famous Cassini's Rift in Saturn's ring. It also reveals many galaxies, but it can also be used to resolve many star clusters.
The SkyWatcher AZ-Go2 102/1300 MC telescope creates its own wireless WiFi connection to your phone or tablet. This makes it easy to control the binoculars with the SynScan app, which can be downloaded free of charge to your device. Especially for beginners, this feature is particularly useful, as you don't need to know the names and locations of the stars, just set up a bright star or two to learn the mechanics. The telescope can also be used with the SkySafari planetarium software, which can be downloaded to a mobile phone and includes, among other things, an updatable database of small planets and comets. Of course, the selected object is not only "visited" but also tracked by the mechanics.
A 25 mm and a 10 mm eyepiece are included in the package, providing magnifications of 52x and 130x respectively. For further magnifications, the optimal solution is to purchase the TMB Planetary II (WA Plössl) 8 mm eyepiece, which provides 163x magnification. A starpointer makes it easy to align the celestial bodies, and a zenith mirror makes observing them comfortable.
In addition to its astronomical use, our instrument also excels as a naturalist's daytime binocular, which can be made even more comfortable with the optional Amici prism. (The Amici prism gives you a straight-on and side-on view of your telescope.)
The SkyWatcher AZ-Go2 102/1300 MC binoculars can be battery powered (although this is not recommended). An optional 12V mains adapter is required to operate from a 220V mains supply. For field observation, you may also wish to purchase a 12V gel battery, power cable and battery charger.
The eyepiece tray can be fitted with a variety of accessories, including your sighting body. And the extendable steel foot can be adjusted to your height.
