The SkyWatcher solar filtering film is perhaps the most popular light reduction device for solar viewing. Its very affordable price means very good quality, with the sun visible in a pleasant orange colour.
Mounted solar filters are recommended for those who do not wish to bother with making solar filters, but be aware that factory solutions are often smaller than the objective lens of the telescope, thus reducing the performance of your telescope to a greater or lesser extent.
