If you wish to operate your mount or motor drive from a 230 V mains power supply, you will need an AC adapter, which is not included as standard with most telescopes and mounts. In most cases, the 2 A version is sufficient to power the motors, but if the mount is heavily loaded or you wish to operate multiple devices, the 5 A version is recommended.
