The ZWO EFW motorized filter wheel features 7×36 mm filter slots, allowing filters to be changed automatically via a computer, ZWO ASIAir, or ToupTek Stellavita. An excellent match for cameras with APS-C-sized sensors.
The filter wheel features T2 threads on both sides, ensuring a simple and secure connection between the telescope and camera. It also offers screw-mounted attachment options for the manufacturer’s cooled cameras, allowing the filter wheel to be positioned closer to the sensor to help minimize vignetting. The device connects to a computer via USB 2.0 and, once the ASCOM driver has been installed, can be easily controlled using any compatible software.
The ZWO EFW motorized filter wheel is housed in a high-quality aluminum body, measuring just 20 mm in width and weighing 515 grams. Thanks to its slim design, it can be positioned remarkably close to the camera sensor, eliminating concerns about vignetting even when used with fast telescopes.
The updated filter wheel features a USB-C connector and additional light shielding to prevent stray light from entering.
