The ToupTek G3M 662M monochrome camera, with its high sensitivity (QE>91%), is primarily suitable for solar, lunar and planetary imaging, but can also be used as a guide camera thanks to its ST4 port.
Featuring a Sony IMX662 sensor with back-illuminated STARVIS 2 technology, this 2.07-megapixel camera delivers exceptionally clean, noise-free images even at shorter exposure times thanks to its extremely low read noise.
The small 2.9 μm pixel size ensures the capture of fine details, while the 12-bit output enables the recording of 4096 rich tonal levels. The camera features a built-in UV/IR-cut filter.
The included C-mount/1.25" adapter allows 1.25" filters to be used with the camera. Thanks to its standard C-mount connection, the camera can also be used directly with optional C-mount lenses.
The ToupTek G3M 662M monochrome camera features a USB 3.0 connection and can capture at 103.4 frames per second at its maximum 1920x1080-pixel resolution (8-bit). The high-speed USB 3.0 connection and the advanced 512 MB DDR3 buffer system ensure stable, smooth data transfer for uninterrupted imaging.
Numerous free image capture software packages are available online. For Windows, we especially recommend SharpCap and FireCapture, although the camera also works excellently with the manufacturer's own ToupSky software. The popular PHD2 software also supports the camera, while the ASCOM driver provides even broader compatibility. The camera can be used with Windows, Linux and even Macintosh operating systems.
