The SkyWatcher Star Discovery 150/750 Newtonian telescope is an ideal choice if you are looking for a high-performance telescope with a computer-controlled mount.
The precisely manufactured 150 mm primary mirror reveals a wealth of detail in the wonders of the night sky. Its wide field of view makes it easy to observe larger deep-sky objects, such as star clusters and nebulae. At high magnifications, lunar surface features can be studied in detail, while details on planetary discs are also clearly visible. The short optical tube, measuring approximately 70 cm in length, ensures easy portability and convenient use.
What truly sets this instrument apart from similar-sized reflecting telescopes, however, is the Star Discovery GoTo mount. The GoTo function allows you to choose from 42,000 objects in the database, which the telescope automatically locates and tracks. Encoders on both axes allow the mount to be moved manually without losing its position. You can also request recommended objects for the current night from the controller, making observing even more enjoyable. Thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi module, the mount can also be controlled from a mobile phone or desktop computer, allowing you to operate the system more freely without cables and always use the latest version of the app via your smartphone.
The two eyepieces included in the standard package provide magnifications of 32x and 75x. Their special feature is the generous 62-degree field of view, which is especially useful for observing deep-sky objects. Naturally, the magnification range can be significantly expanded by purchasing additional eyepieces. The telescope is fitted with a 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser. (Please note: DSLR cameras cannot be brought to focus without additional extension.)
The Star Discovery 150/750 Newtonian telescope package also includes a 6x24 finder scope and a compass. The telescope can also be powered by batteries, although this is not recommended; an external power source can also be connected. With an optional 12 V / 2 A mains adapter, it can be operated from a 230 V power supply. For those looking for a more portable solution, we recommend a 12 V gel battery.
