The SkyWatcher Explorer 130/650 PDS Newton tube was specifically designed with astrophotographers in mind. This is evident not only from the high-quality parabolized 130/650 primary mirror, but also from the enlarged secondary mirror and the excellent 2" dual-speed 1:10 ratio Crayford focuser. This allows for the attachment of not only 2" eyepieces but also digital SLR cameras to the tube.
The SkyWatcher Explorer 130/650 PDS reflector telescope is an excellent choice for those seeking the most affordable astrophotography telescope for capturing deep-sky objects. The 13 cm diameter optics are sufficiently large and of high quality to reveal the brightest galaxies, star clusters, as well as surface details of planets and the Moon. Its light weight makes it ideal for field use.
Compared to other manufacturers' telescopes, its primary mirror is parabolized, providing sharper images. It is not only a universally usable visual astronomical telescope but also offers a fast f/5 system suitable for astrophotography.
If easy upgradeability is important A telescope mount that suits the needs must be purchased separately for the tube. The package includes a 6x30 finderscope and a 28 mm Apex eyepiece providing 23.2x magnification, but with additional eyepieces, the theoretical 260x magnification can be achieved, provided the atmosphere allows. The basic package includes a 2"/1.25" reducer adapter with a T2 thread.

Két hét használat után azt tudom mondani kiváló választás volt. A tubus robusztus, mindene a helyén. A kollaminálni is egyszerű, többféle állványra is remekül felfogadható. Nem nehéz, alig több mint 4Kg tubusgyűrűkkel együtt. A 2" kihuzat 2 sebességes mikrófókusszal fantasztikus. Könnyedén lehet fókuszt találni szinte bármely objektumra. A távcső fényereje lehetővé teszi - nem fényszennyezett helyről - az M31 M33 galaxisok szabad szemes észlelését, az Orion Köd, és a Fiastyúk is pazar látványt nyújt vele. Bolygózásra is bevetettem 2.5x Barlow lencsével és 6 illetve 4mm okulárokkal. A 6mm még remek képet adott kivehetőek a Jupiter felhő sávjai, a Szaturnusz több holdja. 4mm-es okulárral már nagyon pontos követés szükséges lévén, hogy kis látómező áll rendelkezésre, Viszont a Szaturnusz gyűrűje és részletei kárpótoltak érte. A vizuális észlelésen kívül a tubus alkalmas kezdő fotózásra is. DSLR kamera csatlakoztatása a 2"-es kihuzathoz egy T2 gyűrűvel könnyedén megoldható.
