SkyWatcher EQM-35 Pro Goto mechanics may be familiar to many who have had or have EQ-3 mechanics. Yet this model is much more than you might first think. The mechanism head rests on the very sturdy steel feet that we've seen on the HEQ-5, and the head has some surprises in store, in addition to having a full-fledged GOTO function, it can also be used as an easily portable astrophotography mechanism. Its built-in polariscope helps you to accurately position it on the pole. Any Vixen-standard prismatic binocular can be mounted on the head, up to a weight of 10 kg. Redesigned, extended diameter worm gear wheel minimizes periodic errors.
In addition to the computerized object positioning (Goto control), the Synscan handheld has a number of additional features that can be useful for both visual and photographic observers. Among other things, dead time compensation can be set to reduce the response time of the mechanism; 25 own object data can be stored for easy resetting later. It is also possible to set the most spectacular objects of the evening one after the other within a tour. The Synscan handheld controller database stores data on more than 42 900 objects.
The unique feature of the SkyWatcher EQM-35 Pro Goto mechanic is that its modular design makes the DEC unit detachable, saving considerable weight while gaining a very robust clockwork astrophotography mechanic that can be upgraded with optional photo attachments. The mechanic is powered by 12V, for which the manufacturer provides a cigarette lighter socket, but a 12V gel battery (optional) is more convenient to use.
The basic package includes 2 x 3.5 kg counterweights.
