Unlike the previous model, the SkyWatcher AZ-Go 2 130/650 Newtonian also includes a built-in WIFI unit, but still retains the option of using the handheld controller.
If you're looking for a telescope that will let you see more celestial objects on the first try than Galileo ever did in his lifetime, and at the best price, the SkyWatcher AZ-Goto 2 130/650 Newtonian is a great choice. The 13 cm optics are large enough and of high quality to show the brightest galaxies, star clusters, and surface details of planets and the Moon.
The built-in wifi module gives you full control of the telescope via an Android or iOS mobile phone app. Under sufficiently dark skies, the telescope can point at any of the thousands of objects in the catalogue stored in the app with just a few taps of a button, but of course you can also point at the planets.
The package includes a 25mm and a 10mm eyepiece, which can be used to achieve magnifications of 26x and 65x, respectively. For further magnifications, the most economical solution is to use 2x Barlow lenses. Also included in the basic package is a starpointer, which makes it easy to align the celestial bodies. A number of accessories can be attached to the eyepiece tray, including our observatory. And the extendable steel leg can be adjusted to your height and provides greater stability than the aluminium legs you're used to in its class.
The SkyWatcher Az-Go 2 130/650 newton binoculars can be battery powered (although we don't recommend it), and also feature an external power supply connection for operation from a car cigarette lighter with an optional power cable. For those looking for a more portable solution, we recommend the simpler battery solution. An optional mains adapter is required for operation from a 220V mains supply.
