The small size and light weight of the SkyWatcher 70/500 Telescope make them easy to take with you on family outings.
Away from cities, it's a great deep-sky telescope for dark skies: its huge field of view can include a multitude of sparkling open clusters or vast, mysterious interstellar nebulae. But the telescope doesn't let you get bored during the day either: it can be used as a spotting scope for observing the surrounding landscape. And with SLR cameras, you can easily capture what you see in the telescope!
It's also a great way to see the sky as a telescope's spectral skyline.
The basic Amici prism gives you a straight-on, side-on view - just like looking through the naked eye. The package includes 25 mm and 10 mm Super Barium eyepieces, which give 20x and 50x magnification. For use as a spotting scope, we recommend 8-24 mm zoom eyepieces, covering the magnification range 21x-62x. For even higher magnifications, a 2x Barlow lens is a good solution.
The AZ-3 is equipped with a fine adjustment mount, making it ideal for nature observation. The retractable aluminium foot can be adjusted to your height.
