The Scopium XSP-191T-LED-Plan biological microscope is a sophisticated instrument that offers above-average quality at an affordable price, and it can be extensively upgraded with accessories. Its optical elements are naturally made of glass, and virtually no plastic is found on the device. A unique feature is its enlarged frame, full-Koehler illumination, and even more precise focusing along with plan objectives.
Quality Begins with the Objectives
The microscope is equipped with five plan achromatic objectives, which offer better edge correction than semiplan objectives and provide sharp, high-contrast images all the way to the edge of the field of view. The standard equipment includes objectives with magnifications of 4x, 10x, 20x, 40x, and 100x, which can be easily replaced thanks to their DIN standard connection. The 40x and 100x objectives feature a spring mechanism to protect the slide from accidental breakage. You can choose from three types of wide-field plan eyepieces (WF10x, WF12.5x, WF16x), allowing you to customize the magnifications to your needs.
LED Lighting for Outstanding Colors
The slide illumination is provided by a built-in 3 W LED light, which surpasses older halogen bulbs in many ways: its color temperature allows for a more contrast-rich image, and its light is more even. Additionally, it has the advantage of not heating up and consuming less power. The quality of the illumination can be fine-tuned with various solutions: the intensity can be adjusted with a dial and an iris diaphragm ranging from 2 mm to 30 mm in diameter, and the focus can even be changed with the N.A. 1.25 Abbe condenser. All these features enable the application of the Koehler illumination method.
Precision Above All
Alongside the "normal" focusing, there is a scaled fine focus with a 0.002 mm step size on one axis, ensuring that the obtained image can always be adjusted to razor-sharpness. The enlarged mechanical stage is equipped with bidirectional fine movement and can be adjusted with 0.01 mm precision, eliminating the need to touch the specimen by hand, which could shake the microscope. The moving parts are free from any play, making work comfortable.
Trinocular Head for Microphotography Enthusiasts
For those who are serious about capturing the image seen in the microscope, the trinocular head is a great help. The viewing head is tilted at 30° and can rotate 360°, making it comfortable to use from any direction. It also has an independent camera connector, which, due to its vertical design, evenly distributes the camera's weight and does not interfere with visual observation. When using a camera, only one of the binocular views is usable as the other light path is directed to the camera using the light path switch on the microscope head.
The basic package also includes yellow, green, and blue filters, as well as a strong dust cover to protect the microscope when not in use.
