Our Scopium XSP-191B-LED-Plan biological microscope is a sophisticated instrument offering above-average quality at an attractive price, with a wide range of upgrade options available. Its optical components are naturally made of glass, with virtually no plastic used anywhere on the instrument. Its distinctive features include an enlarged frame, full Köhler illumination, an even more precise focusing mechanism, and plan objectives.
Quality begins with the objectives
The microscope is equipped with five plan achromatic objectives, offering better edge correction than semi-plan objectives and delivering sharp, high-contrast images all the way to the edge of the field of view. The standard configuration includes 4x, 10x, 20x, 40x, and 100x objectives, which can be easily replaced thanks to their DIN-standard mounting threads. The spring-loaded design of the 40x and 100x objectives protects the specimen slide from accidental breakage. Three types of wide-field plan eyepieces (WF10x, WF12.5x, WF16x) are available for the microscope, allowing you to tailor the magnification to your needs.
LED illumination for outstanding colour reproduction
The specimen slide is illuminated by an integrated 3 W LED light, which surpasses older halogen bulbs in many respects: its colour temperature provides a more contrast-rich image, while its illumination is more even. Another significant advantage is that it does not heat up and consumes less power. The quality of illumination can be fine-tuned in several ways: brightness can be adjusted using a control knob and an iris diaphragm with an aperture diameter ranging from 2 mm to 30 mm. In addition, the focus can also be adjusted using the N.A. 1.25 Abbe condenser. These features enable the use of the Köhler illumination method.
Precision above all else
In addition to the standard focusing mechanism, the microscope features a graduated fine-focus control with 0.002 mm increments on the same axis, ensuring that the image can always be adjusted to razor-sharp focus. The enlarged mechanical stage features two-axis fine movement and can be adjusted with 0.01 mm precision, eliminating the need to touch the specimen by hand and thereby preventing vibrations of the microscope. All moving parts are free from backlash, ensuring comfortable operation.
Binocular head for extended observation
For those serious about observing the microscopic world, binocular viewing enables prolonged and comfortable observation. The viewing head is inclined at 30° and can be rotated through 360°, allowing comfortable use from any direction. A camera can be attached after removing one of the eyepieces.
The standard package also includes yellow, green, and blue filters, as well as a durable dust cover to protect the microscope when not in use.
