Why is the Scopium XSP-151M-LED biological microscope so popular with our customers? It offers reliable optical and mechanical quality at an affordable price and can be expanded with a wide range of accessories. The instrument is made almost entirely of metal and glass components.
Excellent optics
The microscope features 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x achromatic semi-plan objectives, providing sharp, detailed images across almost the entire field of view. Thanks to their DIN-standard mounting, they can be easily replaced with versions offering different magnifications. The spring-loaded design of the 40x and 100x objectives helps protect both the slide and the objective from accidental impacts and breakage. The 100x objective is oil immersion type and therefore requires immersion oil.
The Scopium XSP-151M-LED microscope comes with a WF10x wide-field eyepiece, providing magnifications of 40x, 100x, 400x and 1000x. Additional magnification ranges can be achieved using other eyepieces. The 45° inclined, 360° rotatable monocular viewing head ensures comfortable observation from any direction. After removing the 23.2 mm diameter eyepiece, a compatible camera can also be attached in its place.
Modern LED illumination
Transmitted illumination of specimens is provided by a 1 W variable-brightness LED light, which is superior to conventional halogen illumination in every respect. Its light has a slightly bluish tint and is more even. It generates less heat and consumes less energy. The N.A.=1.25 Abbe condenser helps achieve optimal illumination, while the iris diaphragm enables even more precise adjustment (see Köhler illumination).
Precise mechanics
The Scopium XSP-151M-LED biological microscope features coaxial coarse and fine focusing. The graduated fine focus adjustment, with 0.01 mm increments, enables fast and precise focusing. The mechanical stage allows fine movement in two directions with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. This makes it possible to position the specimen precisely without moving the slide by hand, helping to prevent accidental movement of the microscope.
The basic package also includes yellow, green and blue filters, as well as a durable dust cover to protect the instrument when not in use.
