Why is the Scopium XSP-151B-LED biological microscope so popular with our customers? It offers reliable optical and mechanical quality at an affordable price and can be expanded with a wide range of accessories. The instrument is made almost entirely of metal and glass components.
Excellent optics
The microscope features 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x achromatic semi-plan objectives, delivering sharp, detailed images across almost the entire field of view. Thanks to their DIN-standard mounting, they can easily be replaced with versions offering different magnifications. The spring-loaded design of the 40x and 100x objectives helps protect both the slide and the objective from accidental impacts and breakage. The 100x objective is oil immersion, so immersion oil is required for use.
The Scopium XSP-151B-LED microscope comes with a WF12.5x wide-field eyepiece, providing 50x, 125x, 500x and 1250x magnification. Additional magnification ranges can be achieved by using other eyepieces. The 45° inclined, 360° rotatable binocular viewing head ensures comfortable observation from any direction. Once the 23.2 mm diameter eyepiece has been removed, a compatible camera can be fitted in its place.
Modern LED illumination
Transmitted-light illumination of specimens is provided by a 1W adjustable-brightness LED light, which is superior to conventional halogen illumination in every respect. Its light has a slightly bluish tint and is more even. It produces less heat and consumes less energy. The N.A.=1.25 Abbe condenser helps achieve optimal illumination, while the iris diaphragm allows even more precise adjustment (see Köhler illumination).
Precision mechanics
The Scopium XSP-151B-LED biological microscope features coaxial coarse and fine focus controls. The graduated fine focus control, with 0.01 mm increments, allows quick and precise focusing. The mechanical stage enables two-axis fine movement with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. This allows the specimen to be positioned precisely without moving the slide by hand, while preventing accidental movement of the microscope.
The basic package also includes yellow, green and blue filters, as well as a durable dust cover to protect the instrument when not in use.
