The SkyWatcher Virtuoso GTi mechanics is the most affordable full-feature GoTo system for short tube, small and medium binoculars.
The mechanics can communicate with your smartphone or tablet via a built-in WiFi connection by downloading the SynScan App from Google Play or App Store. Optionally, it is possible to use Synscan handheld controller. With the app or handheld controller, you can access data from 42,900 objects, allowing you to find plenty of spectacular objects in dark rural skies that your telescope's diameter will allow.
Although the Virtuoso Gti Minidobson should be placed on a table for convenient use, it is possible to mount it on a tripod with a 3/8-inch photo tripod thread (such as a StarAdventurer). This allows you to freely raise the complete mechanical head to a comfortable height, so that you can use your binoculars in a standing position. Since the clutch can be released along both axes, the telescope can be moved freely by hand when mounted on the mechanism. Thanks to the built-in encoders, there is no need to retrain the mechanism after manual movement.
For power supply, you can use 8pcs AA batteries in the built-in battery compartment, or optionally run from a 12V mains power supply, gel battery. A digital camera can also be attached to the mechanism instead of the telescope for astro-landscape photography or time lapse videos. The mechanic also handles timed exposures from your DSLR-MILC camera via a jack connection.
The upper limit of its power range is approximately 127 MC, 130/650 newton tube, 150/750 flex-newton tube, and short-focus lens binoculars up to about 102 mm diameter. Tubes that are too long would get in the way of a mechanical base.
