The Skywatcher 114/500 Newton Virtuoso is a very compact, easy to carry, yet very beautiful imaging instrument, and it can be expanded with computer control. The hand-held control knobs make it easy to find spectacular celestial objects in the solar system or even brighter deep sky objects. Optionally expandable with the GoTo hand controller, you can select any of the 42,900 objects programmed into the hand controller, or reach recommended objects from the mount. Beginner astronomers are also highly recommended!
The Virtuoso is basically a mini Dobsonian mount with built-in high resolution encoders and synchronous motor. At the start of the observation, the telescope is pointed north and then pointed at the North Star. The clockwork function can then be used. But the mounts don't stop there: using a wifi adapter and mobile phone software, you can also take spectacular panoramic photos and time-lapse shots. It can also be powered by a 12V DC power adapter (optional) or 8 batteries.
The 11.4 cm diameter, parabolic main mirror is large enough and of high quality to show the Moon's craters, but also Saturn's ring, Mars' red disk, Venus' phase changes or Jupiter's cloud bands. With enough practice, you can also get the brightest galaxies, open and globular clusters on the telescope's telescope. Its short focus of 500 mm makes it sit more steadily on the mount. Thanks to the very high brightness of f/4.4, even the largest star clusters fit comfortably in the wide field of view.
The telescopes come with 25 and 10 mm Bárium eyepieces for 20x and 50x magnification, respectively, and a Starpointer for easy alignment of celestial objects.
