The SkyWatcher StarQuest-2 127/1500 MC binoculars are the ideal choice if you are looking for a large, but easily portable and very high quality binocular. Its 127 mm Makasutov-Cassegrain optics give a surprisingly sharp, contrasty image, allowing you to spot Jupiter's Great Red Spot or the famous Cassini's Rift in the ring of Saturn. It also reveals many galaxies, but it can also be used to dissect many star clusters.
A short tube of just under 35 cm and a lightweight mechanism make the instrument easily portable, offering an optimal compromise between power and size.
In addition to a zenith mirror, the SkyWatcher StarQuest-2 127/1500 MC telescope comes with a 20 mm and a 10 mm photo eyepiece, which provide magnification of 65x and 130x respectively. However, with additional eyepieces, magnification of up to 250x can be achieved. A starpointer is included in the basic package to make it easy to align the celestial bodies. As the telescope is upright (but gives a left-right inverted image) it is also suitable for nature observation. And thanks to the T2 thread at the end of the telescope, you can also attach a camera.
The SkyWatcher StarQuest-2 mechanism is an improved, enhanced version of the earlier StarQuest. The mechanics head has been replaced with a sturdier, steel tripod instead of lower legs and the RA axis pulley has been increased in size, making it more durable. Like its predecessor, the StarQuest-2 has a Vixen-rail connection, so the telescope tube can be quickly removed and replaced with a single hand screw.
