The SkyWatcher Star Discovery 127/1500 MC is recommended for those who value performance, mobility and user-friendliness in a telescope. The short tube of just 35 cm and the lightweight mechanics make the instrument easy to carry. Its beautiful cherry red finish breaks away from the traditional black and white tubes. Its superb optics give a surprisingly sharp, contrasty image, making it possible to spot Jupiter's Great Red Spot or the famous Cassini's Rift in Saturn's ring. It also reveals many galaxies, but it can also be used to resolve many star clusters.
The Star Discovery GoTo app, which runs on your mobile phone over a WiFi connection, can point you to any of the more than 42,000 objects in its catalogue with just a few taps of a button. Both axes are equipped with encoders that allow the mechanics to be moved manually without "losing" position. With the built-in wifi module, you can also control the mechanic from a mobile phone or desktop computer, giving you more freedom to control your mechanic without cables.
The standard package includes 25 and 10 mm eyepieces, which provide magnifications of 60x and 150x. The 2x Barlow lens, also included as standard, provides additional magnifications of 90x, 120x, 225x and 300x. A 6x30 finder telescope makes it easy to align the celestial bodies, while a cenito mirror makes observation convenient. As the telescope is upright (but with left-right inverted images), it is also suitable for nature observation.
The "one-arm" Star Discovery mechanics provide outstanding stability, are also motorised for sky tracking and, because they are clutch operated, can be moved by hand. The mechanism is also particularly suitable for daytime panoramic photography or video, as it can control the camera in predefined positions, provided the camera is equipped with a 2.5 mm "Jack" connector. The eyepiece tray can be used to attach a variety of accessories, including a sighting device. And the extendable steel foot can be adjusted to your height.
The binoculars can be powered by a 12V battery, Power Tank or 220V mains with optional mains adapter. For battery use, the sarus power cable must be supplied.
