The Star Adventurer GTi mount is an ideal choice for those looking for a lightweight, portable solution for astrophotography or time-lapse imaging. With a payload capacity of approximately 5 kg, it is particularly recommended for smaller, short focal length apochromatic telescopes.
Its built-in Wi-Fi control allows easy operation from a smartphone or tablet, while it can also be controlled with an optional SynScan hand controller. The equatorial mount supports guided imaging and features an ST-4 autoguider port for this purpose. Accurate polar alignment is assisted by the included illuminated reticle polar scope.
It is recommended not only for astrophotography but also for creating time-lapse videos. Convenient operation is further enhanced by an app-programmable exposure control output, allowing the shutter release of various cameras to be controlled. Power can be supplied by an optional external 12 V power supply or 8 AA batteries.
The Star Adventurer GTi head can be mounted on any sufficiently stable tripod with a 3/8" connection (e.g. the Star Adventurer tripod). It is also available together with an NEQ-2 tripod with steel legs. In both cases, the package includes a 20 mm diameter counterweight shaft and two counterweights with a total weight of 2.3 kg. The counterweight shaft has two mounting positions on the mount head, preventing it from hitting the tripod legs even when set at a low angle.
An EQMod cable (RJ45) compatible with Sky-Watcher equatorial mounts can be connected to the mount.
