Those looking for a large, but easily portable and very high quality telescope have come to the right place. SkyWatcher's 127mm diameter, 1500mm focal length Makasutov-Cassegrain optics give a surprisingly sharp, contrasty image, allowing you to spot Jupiter's Great Red Spot or the famous Cassini's Rift in Saturn's ring. It also reveals many galaxies, but it can also be used to resolve many star clusters.
The telescope is available with a 1.25" or 2" focuser, the latter offering a larger field of view than is usual for a Makasutov-Cassegrain telescope. (The 1.25" focuser can be "extended" with additional adapters to accept 2" accessories at a later date.) The basic package includes a 1.25" or 2" zenith mirror and 1.25" or 2" eyepieces. With additional eyepieces up to 250x magnification is available. For celestial alignment, we recommend a 6x30 finder scope or starpointer.
The price of the telescopes does not include mounts, which must be purchased separately. When purchasing, please note whether you plan to use the tubes on azimuthal or equatorial mounts, as the finder telescope may be uncomfortably low if the wrong version is chosen. The azimuthal version is recommended for "half-arm" mounts.
