High performance at an affordable price. Sky-Watcher Classic Dobsonians offer excellent value for money while delivering very high optical quality. An excellent choice for visual observers who prefer optical performance, simplicity and ease of use over high-tech solutions.
Its huge 30 cm aperture gathers more than twice as much light as popular 20 cm models. The precision-machined, diffraction-limited parabolic mirror is made of low-expansion glass similar to Pyrex. A telescope of this size reveals an enormous amount of detail in the night sky, allowing observation of several thousand deep-sky objects. Star clusters can be resolved into individual stars, while the spiral arms of many galaxies are easily recognisable. Numerous interstellar gas and dust clouds appear in forms almost identical to those seen in photographs. Thanks to its excellent optics, lunar and planetary surface features can also be studied in detail. The precise 2" Crayford focuser enables very fine focusing and provides access to wide fields of view, which is particularly advantageous when observing extended deep-sky objects.
The included 25 mm and 10 mm barium eyepieces provide 60x and 150x magnification. The crosshair 9x50 spring-loaded finder scope makes locating objects easy.
