High performance at a budget-friendly price. The Skywatcher Classic Dobson telescopes are exceptional value for money, but they are also optically very good astronomical telescopes. They are an excellent choice for visual observers who prefer optical performance, simplicity and ease of use to high-tech solutions.
The 20 cm precision-machined (diffraction-limited) parabolic mirror is made of a glass material with the same properties as Pyrex. It reveals many details of the beauty of the sky: star clusters can be broken down into tiny stars, and the spiral arms of many galaxies can be easily observed. Many interstellar clouds of gas and dust almost look as they do in photographs. Thanks to its excellent optics, the surface features of the Moon and planets can be studied in detail. The precise 2" Crayford focuser allows very fine focusing and the possibility of achieving large fields of view, which is particularly useful for observing large deep sky objects.
The standard package includes Bárium 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces that provide 48x and 120x magnification, respectively. A fiber-optic 9x50 spring-loaded finder scope makes it easy to locate objects.
