The Az-GTi mount features GoTo control and can be operated via WiFi from a mobile phone or tablet. The telescope can be easily controlled using the free SynScan app, available for download to your device. This feature is especially useful for beginners, as there is no need to know the names or positions of stars; simply align the mount using one or two bright stars. The telescope can also be used with the SkySafari mobile planetarium app, which includes an updatable database of asteroids and comets, among other features. Naturally, the mount not only locates the selected object but also tracks it.
Thanks to its built-in encoders, the Az-GTi mount can be freely moved by hand after alignment without “losing” its position in the sky. It is an excellent solution for those who occasionally prefer to locate objects themselves but sometimes require computer assistance.
The SkyWatcher AZ-GTi 130/650 Newtonian telescope comes with 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces, providing 26x and 65x magnification. The most economical way to achieve higher magnifications is to use a 2x Barlow lens. The eyepiece tray provides space for numerous accessories.
The telescope has an external power connection, allowing it to be powered from a vehicle cigarette lighter socket or a battery. An optional AC adapter is required for operation from a 220 V mains supply.
