The SkyWatcher AZ-GTi 102/1300 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope is recommended for those who value performance, portability and ease of use in a telescope. Its short optical tube and lightweight mount make the instrument easy to transport. Its excellent optics deliver surprisingly sharp, high-contrast images, allowing you to observe Jupiter's Great Red Spot or the famous Cassini Division in Saturn's rings. It also reveals numerous galaxies and resolves a wealth of star clusters.
The AZ-GTi mount features GoTo control: thanks to its WiFi connection, it can even be operated from a mobile phone or tablet. The telescope can be easily controlled using the free SynScan app, available for download to your device. This function is particularly useful for beginners, as there is no need to know the names or positions of the stars; simply align the mount using one or two bright stars. The telescope can also be used with the SkySafari planetarium app for mobile phones, which includes, among other features, an updatable asteroid and comet database. Naturally, the mount not only locates the selected object but also tracks it.
Thanks to its built-in encoders, the AZ-GTi mount can be moved freely by hand after alignment without "losing" its position in the sky. It is an excellent solution for those who occasionally prefer to locate objects themselves but sometimes require computer assistance.
The standard package of the SkyWatcher AZ-GTi 102/1300 MC telescope includes 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces, providing 52x and 130x magnification. For additional magnification, the TMB Planetary II (WA Plössl) 8 mm eyepiece is an optimal choice, providing 163x magnification. A StarPointer makes locating celestial objects easier, while a mirror diagonal ensures comfortable viewing.
The telescope features a power connection, allowing it to be operated from a car cigarette lighter socket or a battery. An optional AC adapter is required for operation from a 220 V mains supply.
