The Opticron Natura BGA WP DC 8x42 monoculars are a true curiosity in the world of monoculars. The latest member of the Opticron Natura BGA family, already known for its exceptional image quality, has been tailored to the needs of water and near-water enthusiasts. Monoculars are the kings of portability among binoculars. During active activities such as sailing, hiking and hunting, we often only have one hand to handle the binoculars The Opticron Natura BGA BGA WP DC 8x42 monocular frame is made of aluminium alloy, which is lightweight and strong enough to handle. For added protection, it is covered with a rubber coating for a secure, non-slip grip. To ensure that the scope is not only waterproof but also protected against internal condensation, the Opticron factory engineers use a nitrogen gas charge.

With mariners, one of the frequent users of waterproof monoculars, the instrument also comes with a built-in compass and distance/size estimating fiber cross for orientation. The visibility of the crosshairs and compass is aided by a "luminous window" at the top of the monocular.

For 8x magnification, you get a fantastically wide 7.4° field of view, simultaneously controlling a huge 129 meters from 1000 meters away. One-handed use is greatly aided by the fact that, thanks to the large depth of field, setting the focus to around 25-30 metres will keep objects hundreds of metres away in sharp focus. The binoculars are also easy to use for spectacle wearers, as the 22 mm eye relief means that even with glasses, most of the field of view remains visible. The ideal eye relief is made more comfortable by a 4-position retractable eyecup.

Multiple anti-reflective (FMC) coatings protect the lens system against internal reflections. They also increase the light transmission of the lens system. The use of premium quality ED lenses in the monocular also contributes to the beautiful, colour-saturated, contrasty visual appearance. The light transmission of the prism system is maximised by the BAK4 material prism and the manufacturer's proprietary Oasis coating.

Fixed 1/4" photo tripod threads allow it to be mounted on a photo tripod or car window stand.

The carrying case is of course a standard accessory for the binoculars. The factory 10-year warranty is also a strong argument for choosing it.
