Lacerta Amici-prism (1.25")

Behind the somewhat unusual appearance of the Lacerta Amici prism is a quality product. Used in any refractor, Schmidt and Makasutov-Cassegrain telescopes, it gives a straight, side-on image. Its prism is made of high quality BAK4 glass material, with surfaces coated with a multi-layer anti-reflection coating: this promises excellent image contrast for ground observation. The free aperture of the prism is 25 mm, which guarantees better image quality than cheaper models. The focusers are protected against scratches by a clamping ring solution.

Not recommended for astronomical use, as the image quality is inferior to that of zenith mirrors. It should not be used as an accessory in Newtonian telescopes!
