The Askar Colour Magic D1 Duo Band (H-Alpha & OIII) Filter is an effective tool for capturing details of the sky with a color CMOS astro camera or camera. This filter significantly reduces the harmful effects of light pollution while enhancing the contrast of deep-sky object details.
The Askar Colour Magic D1 Duo Band filter targets the H-alpha and OIII emission lines, which are essential for observing interstellar gas clouds and supernova remnants. The 2" size allows for easy integration into various astrophotography systems. Its advanced, yet modestly named "Super" anti-reflective coating minimizes unwanted reflections to the greatest extent possible.
In the H-alpha range, the filter operates with an 8.5 nm bandwidth, providing excellent performance at the 656.6 nm wavelength, highlighting hydrogen-rich regions. In the OIII range, with a 6.5 nm bandwidth, it gathers information around the 500.7 nm wavelength, enabling detailed examination of planetary nebulae and other oxygen-rich objects.
