The ZWO TC40 carbon tripod was primarily designed for the ZWO AM3, AM5 and AM7 professional travel mounts, but it can also accommodate other heads with a standard 3/8" tripod thread, such as the SkyWatcher Star Adventurer GTi mount head. To do this, unscrew the mounting bolt and reinstall it from the opposite direction so that it protrudes above the tripod base.
The carbon fibre legs combine low weight with excellent stability: despite weighing just 2.3 kg, the manufacturer rates it for a 50 kg payload capacity. With the legs fully extended, the mounted head can be raised to a height of 800 mm, requiring a footprint of 950 mm in diameter. The tripod includes a weight bag that can be loaded to further improve stability.
