The ZWO EFW Motorized Filter Wheel for 5 × 2" filters allows motorized filter changes via computer or ZWO ASIAir, ToupTek Stellavita. It is an excellent match for cameras with full-frame sensors.
The filter wheel features T2 threads on both sides for telescope and camera attachment. Screw mounting options are available on both sides for the manufacturer's cooled cameras, allowing the filter wheel to be placed closer to the camera sensor, reducing potential vignetting. It connects to a computer via a USB 2.0 port, and after installing the ASCOM driver, it can be controlled with any compatible software. Power supply is also provided through the USB 2.0 port, eliminating the need for multiple cables, as a single USB cable suffices. The ZWO motorized filter wheel has a maximum current draw of approximately 120 mA @ 5V, enabling operation via the cooled astro camera's USB2.0 port.
The ZWO EFW motorized filter wheel is housed in a high-quality aluminum frame, with a width of only 20 mm and a weight of 720 grams. Its slim design allows it to be positioned surprisingly close to the camera sensor, thus avoiding vignetting even with fast telescopes.
The revamped filter wheel features a USB-C connector and has received additional "sealing" against stray light.
