The ZWO motorized camera rotator (CAA) is a device designed to automate astrophotography. It allows the image composition to be planned with perfect precision by rotating the camera and its sensor.
The required image rotation can be specified for different imaging sequences, eliminating the need for manual adjustments when setting the composition for a new target. There is also no need to worry about disturbing the focus.
The ZWO motorized camera rotator is an ASCOM-compatible device, so it can be operated from a laptop using the appropriate software. It also works perfectly with the ASIAir controller and can optionally be operated with an (EAF) hand controller.
The ZWO motorized camera rotator adjusts the camera angle with an accuracy of 0.02° per step. Angular error is less than 0.1°. The rotator can rotate the camera at speeds of up to 7.5° per second, minimizing waiting time. It features M54 threads on both sides, and an M48 adapter platform for the camera side is included. For cameras with a T2 thread, the optional M42 platform is recommended.
The ZWO motorized camera rotator adds 16.5 mm to the optical path. The device is controlled via a USB-C cable, which also provides the required 5V power supply. Its weight of 465 g does not add significant weight to the overall setup.
