Our Scopium XSP-191B-LED-Plan biological microscope is a sophisticated instrument with an above-average price and a wide range of upgradeable accessories. Its optical elements are made of glass, of course, and there is practically no plastic on the instrument. Unique features include an enlarged frame, full-Koehler illumination and even more precise focusing and plan lenses.
Quality starts with the objectives
The microscope features five pieces of plan acromatic objectives, which have better edge-to-edge correction than semiplan objectives and draw sharp, contrasty images all the way to the edge of the field of view. The standard equipment includes 4x-10x-20x-40x-40x-100x magnification objectives, which are easily interchangeable thanks to their DIN standard mountings. The 40x and 100x objectives are spring-loaded to protect the slide from accidental breakage. You can choose from three different wide-angle plano-oculars (WF10X, WF12.5x, WF16x) for the microscope, allowing you to tailor the magnifications to your own needs.
LED illumination for outstanding colours
The slide is illuminated by a built-in LED illumination that in many ways outperforms older halogen bulbs: its colour temperature allows for a more contrasting image and its light is more uniform. In addition, it has the not insignificant advantage of not heating up and consuming less energy. The quality of the illumination can be fine-tuned with several solutions: a convolution knob, an iris blend from 2 mm to 30 mm diameter to adjust the intensity, and even a focus adjustment with the N.A. 1.25 Abbe condenser. All these features allow the use of the Koehler illumination illumination method.
Precision above all else
With the "normal" focus adjustment, there is also a scaled fine focus adjustment with 0.002 mm step spacing on one axis, so that the resulting image is always razor-sharp. The enlarged mechanical stage is equipped with a two-way fine adjustment and is adjustable to a precision of 0.01 mm - eliminating the need to touch the specimen manually, thus wetting the microscope. The moving parts are free from any backlash, making it comfortable to work with.
Binocular head for long-lasting observation
For those who are serious about observing the microscopic world, the binocular insight allows for long-lasting, comfortable observation. The insight head is tilted 30° and rotates 360° for comfortable use from any direction. A camera can be attached by removing one of the eyepieces.
The basic package also includes yellow, green and blue filters, plus a strong cover sheet to protect the microscope from dust when not in use.
