Our Scopium XSP-181B-LED-Plan biological microscope is a sophisticated instrument with an above-average price and a wide range of upgradeable accessories. Its optical elements are made of glass, of course, and there is virtually no plastic on the instrument. A unique feature is the increased frame size, as well as the full-focus illumination and the even more precise focusing and plan lenses.
Quality starts with the objectives
The microscope features four plan acromatic objectives, which have better edge-to-edge correction than semiplan objectives and draw sharp, contrasty images all the way to the edge of the field of view. The standard equipment includes 4x-10x-40x-100x magnification objectives, which are easily interchangeable thanks to their DIN standard mountings. You can choose from three different wide-angle plano-oculars (WF10X, WF12.5x, WF16x) for the microscope, allowing you to tailor the magnification to your needs. The 40x and 100x objectives are spring-loaded to protect the slide from breakage.
LED illumination for outstanding colours
The slide is illuminated by a built-in LED illumination that in many ways outperforms conventional halogen bulbs: its colour temperature allows for a more contrasty image and its light is more even. In addition, it has the not insignificant advantage of not heating up and consuming less energy. The quality of the illumination can be fine-tuned with several solutions: a cone knob or an iris blend from 2 mm to 30 mm diameter can be used to adjust the intensity, and the Abbe N.A. 1.25 capacitor can even be used to change the focus. All these features allow the use of the Koehler illumination method.
Precision above all else
In addition to the "normal" focus adjustment, there is also a fine focus adjustment with a 0.002 mm step size to ensure that the resulting image is always razor-sharp. The mechanical stage has a fine adjustment and can be set to a precision of 0.1 mm - eliminating the need to touch the specimen manually, thus wetting the microscope. The moving parts are free of any backlash, making your work comfortable.
Binocular head for long-lasting observation
For those who are serious about observing the microscopic world, the binocular insight allows for long-lasting, comfortable observation. The insight head is tilted 30° and rotates 360° for comfortable use from any direction. A camera can be attached by removing one of the eyepieces.
The basic package also includes yellow, green and blue filters, plus a strong cover sheet to protect the microscope from dust when not in use.
