The new, stylish green (33.5 cm long) solid dovetail bar is primarily recommended for astrophotographers. Compared to the dovetail bars found on most SkyWatcher telescopes, it is much more rigid, and the tube ring also rests on a larger surface. The advantageous design has a particularly beneficial effect during guiding. The mount responds more quickly to frequent adjustments, resulting in sharper, more pinpoint stars in the images.
For mounting purposes, the dovetail bar attached to the tube provides a more convenient and practical solution. The dovetail bar is most often attached not directly to the tube, but to two tube rings, allowing the tube to be rotated within the rings. Its weight is 490 g.
The length of the dovetail bars refers to the total length, and their maximum width is uniformly about 42 mm, making them compatible with all mounts that require Vixen standard telescope attachment. Without being exhaustive, these include the following:
- SkyWatcher Star Adventurer 2i Wifi, Star Adventurer Gti, EQ-3, EQ-AL55i, EQ-5, HEQ-5, AZ-EQ-5, CQ350, EQ-6, EQ6-R, EQ8-R, EQ8-RH, and any motorized versions of these.
