The ToupTek G3M 662C color camera, with its high sensitivity (QE>91%), is primarily suitable for solar, lunar, and planetary imaging, but can also be used as a guide camera thanks to its ST4 port.
The 2.07 megapixel camera, equipped with a Sony IMX462 sensor utilizing back-illuminated STARVIS 2 technology, delivers exceptionally clean and noise-free images even with shorter exposure times due to its extremely low readout noise.
The small 2.9 μm pixel size ensures the capture of fine details, while the 12-bit output allows recording of 4096 rich shades. The camera does not have a built-in UV/IR filter, making it highly sensitive in these spectral ranges as well.
With the included C-mount/1.25" adapter, 1.25" filters can also be used with the camera. Thanks to the standard C-mount connection, the camera can optionally be used directly with C-mount lenses.
The ToupTek G3M 662C color camera features a USB 3.0 connector and is capable of recording at 1920x1080 pixel resolution with a speed of 103.4 frames per second (8bit). The high-speed USB 3.0 connection and the advanced 512 MB DDR3 buffer system ensure stable and seamless data transfer for uninterrupted imaging.
Numerous free software options are available online for image capture; for Windows, SharpCap and FireCapture applications are especially recommended, but the manufacturer's own software (ToupSky) is also highly compatible. The popular PHD2 software also supports the camera, while using the ASCOM driver provides even broader device support. The camera is compatible with Windows, Linux, and Macintosh operating systems.
