The ToupTek G3M 662C color camera is primarily suited for solar, lunar, and planetary imaging thanks to its high sensitivity (QE>91%), but its ST4 port also allows it to be used as a guide camera.
Featuring a 2.07-megapixel Sony IMX462 sensor with back-illuminated STARVIS 2 technology, this camera delivers exceptionally clean, noise-free images even at shorter exposure times thanks to its extremely low read noise.
The small 2.9 μm pixel size ensures the capture of fine details, while the 12-bit output enables recording 4096 rich tonal levels. The camera does not feature a built-in UV/IR filter, providing outstanding sensitivity in these spectral ranges as well.
The included C-mount/1.25" adapter allows 1.25" filters to be used with the camera. Thanks to the standard C-mount connection, the camera can also be used directly with optional C-mount lenses.
The ToupTek G3M 662C color camera features a USB 3.0 connection and can capture at up to 103.4 frames per second at its maximum 1920x1080 pixel resolution (8-bit). The high-speed USB 3.0 connection and the advanced 512 MB DDR3 buffer system ensure stable, seamless data transfer for uninterrupted imaging.
A wide range of free imaging software is available online. For Windows, we particularly recommend SharpCap and FireCapture, although the camera also works excellently with the manufacturer's own software, ToupSky. The popular PHD2 software also supports the camera, while the ASCOM driver provides even broader device compatibility. The camera can be used with Windows, Linux, and even Macintosh operating systems.
