The ToupTek motorized filter changer for 8 × 1.25" filters is a great way to quickly, easily and efficiently change filters in the light path of your telescope. The computer-controlled motorized filter changer is designed primarily to facilitate astrophotography, but also to facilitate the activities of visual observers, for example by using narrow-band or light-pollution-reducing filters.
The included USB 2.0 connector allows easy connection to a PC or laptop. The ASCOM driver also allows you to coordinate with many third-party software.8 filter slots, already plenty enough to combine L-RGB monochrome images with, for example, narrowband filters (H-alpha, OIII, H-beta) to create effective composite images. The robust filter housing uses only 20 mm of light path.
The filter housing has an M54 internal thread on both sides. It can be easily mounted on M42 threaded cameras or M48 threaded correctors using the adapters included in the basic package. (An M48/M42 adapter is also included in the package, which can be used to mount an M42 threaded mount if required.) Using the adapters, you get a sensor distance of exactly 55 mm for cameras with a 17.5 mm backfocus.
The product can also accommodate 8 socketless 31 mm filters.
