Stereo microscopes owe their popularity to their versatile and easy-to-use design. They are recommended for instrument technicians, coin restorers and biologists alike. As no specimen preparation is required, even an entire beetle can be examined beneath them. The view is almost breathtakingly three-dimensional in every case.
Our SZM-500T microscope is equipped with a 0.7x-4.5x zoom objective, which, together with the standard WF10x eyepieces, allows continuously variable magnification from 7x to 45x. The eyepieces offer an exceptionally wide field of view: at 7x magnification, they provide a 28.6 mm field of view. Thanks to their complex optical design, they produce a high-contrast, razor-sharp image right to the edge of the field of view. The trinocular microscope head can be moved up and down on its support rod and can even be swung out to the side as required, allowing objects of virtually any size to be placed underneath. (Objects up to 140 mm in size can be brought into sharp focus on the stage.) The viewing head features a 23.2 mm camera connection with separate focusing adjustment and can be switched to direct light either to the camera or to the left eyepiece. There is 100 mm of working distance beneath the objectives, which can be increased to 165 mm with the optional 0.5x reduction lens.
The microscope features upper and lower halogen illumination, with the brightness of each independently adjustable, and can also be fitted with external illumination at a later stage. By fitting the included rubber eyecups to the top of the eyepieces, stray light from the sides can be blocked out, making observations more comfortable.
The binocular head is inclined at 45° and rotates through 360°, while the interpupillary distance can be freely adjusted between 55 and 75 mm. Dioptre adjustment is provided on both sides. The standard package also includes a durable dust cover to protect the microscope when not in use.
