The SkyWatcher Virtuoso Gti 25th Anniversary Limited-Edition 127/1500 MC binoculars are a limited edition, special-edition instrument. We recommend it tothose who value performance, mobility and user-friendliness in a telescope. The short tube and lightweight mechanics make the instrument easy to carry. Its excellent optics give a surprisingly sharp, contrasty image, allowing you to see Jupiter's Great Red Spot or the famous Cassini's Rift in Saturn's ring. It also reveals many galaxies, but it can also be used to resolve many star clusters.
The telescope comes with the larger, 2-inch cube, of course, with a 2-inch zenith mirror. As an eyepiece, you get the 28 mm 2 inch Apex eyepiece, which provides a magnification of 54x, allowing you to see about two full moons of sky at once. With optional short-focus eyepieces with higher magnification, such as Baader's Hyperion 8 mm eyepiece, up to 188x magnification can be achieved with the tube.
The telescope's tube is powered by SkyWatcher's latest development of a desktop half-arm drum system GoTo mechanism called the Anniversary Edition SkyWatcher Virtuoso Gti 25th Anniversary Limited-Edition.
The mechanic can communicate with your smartphone via built-in WiFi by downloading the SynScan App from Google Play or App Store, but there is also the option to use a Synscan handheld controller. With the app or handheld controller, you can access data on 42,900 objects, allowing you to find plenty of spectacular objects in dark, rural skies - as much as the diameter of your telescope will allow.
Although it is advisable to place the telescope on a table for comfortable use, it is possible to mount it on a stand with a 3/8-inch photo tripod thread, so that the complete mechanics can be freely raised to a comfortable height. One such stand is the StarAdventrer tripod stand, which is available as an option.
The unit can be powered by 8 AA pencil batteries in a built-in battery compartment, or optionally from a 12V mains power supply or gel battery. Not only does the mechanism allow you to move your binoculars, but you can also mount a digital camera instead of binoculars to take astro-landscapes or time lapse videos, and the mechanism also provides a jack connection for timed exposure.
