Don't be fooled by the price of this SkyWatcher TravelMax 90 telescope: it's almost the only thing it has in common with the telescopes in the supermarket. The small instrument has surprisingly good optics, easily capable of magnification up to 200x (with optional eyepieces) thanks to its long 1250mm focus. At this magnification, you can study the surface of the Moon in detail, or Saturn with its magnificent ring. The short tube of less than 30 cm and the lightweight mount make the instrument easily portable, so you can take it almost anywhere.
The SkyWatcher TravelMax 90 telescope comes with 25 and 10 mm Super Bárium eyepieces for 50x and 125x magnification, while the white tube version comes with 20 and 10 mm Photo eyepieces for 62.5x and 125x magnification. A Starpointer makes it easy to align the celestial bodies, and a cenito mirror makes observing them convenient. As the telescope is upright (but with left-right inverted images), it can also be used for nature observation. It can also be used as a telephoto lens thanks to the T2 thread at the end and the possibility of attaching a tripod.
EQ-1 or EQ-2 mounts: simple but great
The telescopes are supplied with EQ-1 or NEQ-2 mounts. The EQ-1 mount is mounted on a lower leg, while the NEQ-2 is mounted on a steel leg, making it slightly more stable and less shaky. The latter has the advantage of a prismatic rail connection, which makes mounting and removing the telescope much easier and quicker. Both are equipped with a fine adjustment so that you can follow the sky with your telescope easily and smoothly by hand. The optionally available Equipotential Mechanism (EQ-1 or EQ-2 motor) makes this operation even easier by automatically keeping the target in the field of view of your telescope. A variety of accessories, including a sighting tee, can be attached to the eyepiece tray.
