The accuracy of the pole alignment of the mount can be increased by using a pole telescope. For visual observation a "coarse" setting is sufficient, but for photography a higher accuracy is needed, so a polariscope is most useful in this case.
The fibreplate of the polar scope is marked to allow for precession for even more accurate alignment. The package includes a fibreplate illuminator unit. It can be easily mounted on the SkyWatcher AZ-EQ-5 mounts.
