When focusing a telescope manually, some vibration is inevitable, regardless of how stable the mount is. A motor focuser makes observing more comfortable: focusing becomes not only more convenient but also more precise. Accurate adjustment is especially critical for astrophotography, but the device is also highly useful for visual observing. A potentiometer on the hand controller allows the motor speed to be adjusted between 2.5 and 7.5 revolutions per minute.
The package primarily includes adapters for Sky-Watcher and Celestron Newtonian telescopes and refractors: the product can be used without modification on the manufacturer's 2" Crayford and 2" rack-and-pinion focusers. Other models require custom adaptation. (Tubes with 1.25" focusers can only be used with a custom adapter.)
The Sky-Watcher motor focuser does not support computer control, including ZWO ASIAir and Touptek Stellavita mini computers.
