The SkyWatcher HEQ-5-R Pro GoTo mount is an upgraded version of the previous HEQ5 Pro GoTo, designed specifically for demanding astronomical observation and astrophotography. The mount offers increased stability and a higher 15 kg payload capacity.
Greater precision
For even greater precision, the manufacturer has redesigned the mount’s drive system: the belt drive reduces backlash between the gears, while the larger worm gears provide more accurate tracking.
The top of the SkyWatcher HEQ-5-R Pro GoTo mount head features built-in ports, allowing various devices to be connected and used without unnecessary cabling. The integrated camera control port enables easy operation of DSLR and MILC cameras. The PPEC (Permanent Periodic Error Correction) function helps minimise the effects of mechanical errors, helping to keep long-exposure images sharp.
To make polar alignment easier, the mount head is fitted with larger adjustment screws. The mount also features a carry handle, making lifting and transport easier and more comfortable.
