Apochromatic refractors occupy a special place among the instruments of amateur astronomers. Thanks to their special glass material, their lenses are free from the colour aberrations that characterise acromatic lenses, giving them unparalleled contrast and sharpness of image.
Excellent planetary instrument
The SkyWatcher Evostar ED 120/900 DS-Pro telescope is an outstanding instrument for visual observation of the fine details of the planets. Its large 120 mm optics - among binoculars with telescopes - provide detailed images at magnifications up to 300x. The Moon appears almost three-dimensional, as if flying over its surface. Saturn's ring, including the Cassini disk, and Jupiter's clouds with their tiny swirls are also visible.
Precise focusing is facilitated by a 2", two-speed Crayford focuser and a 1:10 fine focus knob. The standard package includes a 2" dielectric zenith mirror, 9x50 finder scope and 26mm Apex eyepiece. For safe transport, an aluminium carrying case is standard.
