SkyWatcher's apochromatic telescopes are very popular models among astrophotographers. However, their optics are not very bright, which has several drawbacks for astrophotography.
Increase the efficiency of your telescope!
SkyWatcher's 0.85x focus reducer/corrector increases the efficiency of your telescope: by reducing the focus, the required exposure times can be reduced by a third and the field of view is significantly increased. An additional advantage is that optical errors at the edge of the field of view are also reduced.
The number of times the field of view is reduced by two and a half times the length of the image is reduced by up to two times.
The optical errors at the edge of the field of view are also reduced.
Since the image plane characteristics of apochromatic telescopes depend significantly on the diameter and brightness of the optics, different reducers are required for different models. Camera mounting requires the use of an M48 ring.
