SkyWatcher EQM-35 mechanics may be familiar to many who have had or have EQ-3 mechanics. Yet this model is much more than first meets the eye. The mechanism head rests on the very sturdy steel feet familiar from the HEQ-5. The head also has some surprises in store, as its declination unit is detachable, making it a lightweight astrophotography mechanic if you buy the optional motorised control.
Any Vixen-standard prismatic telescope can be mounted on the head, up to a weight of 10 kg. Redesigned, extended diameter RA axis minimizes periodic errors. The basic package includes 2 counterweights of 3.5 kg.
If you can afford it, it's worth buying the GoTo version right away, but you can upgrade to GoTo later with an upgrade kit once you buy the base model.
