The SkyWatcher AZGT 127/1500 Maksutov-Cassegrain is recommended for those who value performance, mobility and user-friendliness in a telescope. The short tube and lightweight mechanics make the instrument easy to carry. Its excellent optics give a surprisingly sharp, contrasty image, allowing you to see Jupiter's Great Red Spot or the famous Cassini's Rift in Saturn's ring. It also reveals many galaxies, but it can also be used to resolve many star clusters.
The SkyWatcher AZGT 127/1500 MC telescope creates its own wireless connection, so it can communicate with your mobile device in places where wifi or cellular networks are not available. The SynScan app, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Play Store on your device, makes it easy to control the scope. This is a particularly useful feature for beginners, as you don't need to know the names and locations of the stars, just set up a bright star or two to learn the mechanics. The telescope can also be used with the SkySafari 5 planetarium software, which can be downloaded to a mobile phone and includes, among other things, an updatable database of small planets and comets.
The telescope is equipped with an enchoder (AZGTi) mechanism, so after training you can move the telescope freely by hand without "losing" its position in the sky.
The SkyWatcher AZGT package includes a 25 mm and a 10 mm eyepiece, which provide magnifications of 60x and 150x, respectively. For additional magnifications, the most economical solution is to use 2x Barlow lenses. A Starpointer makes it easy to align the celestial bodies and a zenith mirror makes observing them comfortable.
The telescope can be battery powered (not recommended), but has an external power source connection to run from a car cigarette lighter or Skywatcher PowerTank battery. An optional AC adapter is required to operate from 220V mains.
