The SkyWatcher 0.85x focal reducer is designed for the manufacturer’s Evostar ED 80/600 telescope: by reducing the focal length, it reduces the required exposure time by one third while significantly increasing the field of view. It also reduces optical aberrations at the edge of the field.
The corrector attaches to the thread at the end of the telescope focuser (after removing the factory-installed ring), while an M48 thread is provided for camera attachment. The required backfocus is 55 mm.
The product is compatible with the manufacturer’s earlier ED and newer EDX 80/600 apochromatic telescopes.
