The Opticron Marine 7x50 monocular, designed for the needs of the boating enthusiast, has arrived. On the oceans, lakes and rivers, handheld binoculars face special challenges. Not only must the optics be designed to withstand the constant water-near-moist environment, but the effects of constantly moving water and occasional poor visibility must also be taken into account.
The Opticron Marine 7x50 monocular's metal frame is covered with a ribbed rubber housing, providing a secure grip even in wet environments for a scope weighing just 540 g.The 50 mm front lens has excellent light gathering capabilities, allowing the binoculars to be used in low light or even moonlight conditions, and navigation lights from other ships or harbour lights will be clearly visible.
With 7x magnification and a large diameter, you can expect a bright, rich field of view. With a huge depth-of-field range, there is almost no need for focus adjustment. Both the optimum choice of magnification, the one-eye design and the huge sharpness range are designed to make the binoculars easy and safe to use with one hand while on board, even in unstable conditions.
Water resistance is almost a must-have criterion for a boat scope, and Opticron's boat scope is not only waterproof but also nitrogen gas filled, not only sealing water out of the monocular body but also "eliminating" the chance of internal condensation. Multiple anti-reflection coatings (FMC) on all lenses of the porro-prism binoculars prevent harmful reflections and flares, while also greatly increasing the light efficiency of the binoculars. Even those wearing glasses can see the eye-catching 7.2° field of view.
Not only the binoculars, but also a soft case and a neck strap are included in the packaging.
