Hand-held use can reduce the performance of binoculars to a greater or lesser extent. Hand tremors are particularly noticeable with heavier, higher-magnification binoculars, so supporting them is highly recommended. For this purpose, we recommend so-called L-adapters, which allow your binoculars to be mounted on a tripod with a standard 1/4" photographic thread. The L-adapter is made entirely of aluminium, making it more stable than plastic versions; recommended for 60–70 mm binoculars.
With roof prism models, the wide L-adapter often does not fit between the two barrels; in such cases, Opticron's narrow adapter is an excellent solution.
